Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique where thin needles are inserted into specific areas of the muscle, known as trigger points. The goal is to relieve muscle pain and stiffness, improve flexibility, and enhance muscle function. Improve circulation and desensitize the nervous system.

Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome
  • Enhance Post Workout Recovery
  • Nephropathy
  • Tension Headaches and Migraines
  • Chronic Pain Conditions
  • Muscular Tightness and Spasms
  • Tendonitis
  • Whiplash
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sciatica
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sports Injuries

Cupping

Cupping is an alternative treatment where Dr. Cooper, PT, DPT. places special cups on the skin to create suction. The purpose is to enhance circulation, relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair, and aid in other regeneration processes. It's often used to alleviate pain and deep tissue inflammation, reduce muscle knots, and improve overall blood flow.

Joint Mobilization

Joint mobilization is a manual therapy technique that involves the passive movement of specific joints using the hands of the therapist. The goal is to improve joint function by increasing the range of motion, reducing pain, and relieving muscle spasms. It involves gentle, controlled forces applied in specific directions to help loosen tight tissues around a joint, decrease pain and improve flexibility and alignment. Improve joint function by increase range of motion and enhance postural awareness.

Soft/Deep Tissue Mobilizations

Soft/deep tissue mobilization involves hands-on techniques designed to improve tissue extensibility, increase range of motion, induce relaxation, mobilize or manipulate soft tissues and joints, modulate pain, and reduce soft tissue inflammation. Dr. Cooper, PT, DPT. uses various methods for deep/soft tissue mobilizations, including Tool Assisted Massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy to work on muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical therapy aimed at relieving back pain and promoting healing in the spine. It involves gently stretching the spine, which can change the force and position of the spinal discs, the gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine. This process helps take pressure off the spinal discs and nerves, potentially helping discs that are bulging or herniated to retract and promote the movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs so they can heal. It is commonly used to treat conditions like herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis.

Blood Flow Restriction Therapy(BFR)

Blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy is a technique in which a specialized tourniquet system is applied to an extremity to reduce venus blood flow to a specific muscle or muscle group while exercising. The goal is to achieve the benefits of high-intensity workouts using much lighter weights, which can be particularly useful during rehabilitation or when heavy-load lifting is not possible. The restriction is carefully controlled to be safe while still allowing arterial blood flow and limiting venous return. It's thought to lead to muscle growth and strength gains and is used to treat various patients, including those recovering from injury surgery or looking to enhance their training effectiveness. Blood flow restriction has an endocan effect that will give optimal recovery including muscle tissues and ligaments.

Vestibular Therapy

Vestibular therapy, also known as vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT), is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to alleviate problems caused by vestibular disorders. It involves hands on techniques and exercises to improve balance, minimize dizziness, reduce visual disturbance, and enhance overall coordination. Conditions often treated with VRT include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis, vestibular neuritis, and Meniere's disease. The therapy is tailored to address individual patient symptoms and may include maneuvers to reposition particles in the inner ear, balance training, and exercises to improve stability and reduce vertigo.
